Bakr Field Discovered

Original discovery of the Bakr Oil and Gas Field, establishing one of Egypt's foundational onshore petroleum assets with 135 million barrels of recoverable reserves.

1990s

Modernization Era

Field development accelerated with advanced drilling techniques and enhanced recovery programs to maximize output from mature reservoirs.

2010s

Joint Venture Formation

PetroBakr Petroleum Company established as a strategic joint venture between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and Vaalco Energy, combining state oversight with independent operational agility.

2024

Arta 92 & Future Growth

Commenced development drilling at Arta 92 well with Minister Badawi's oversight. Announced $121M investment plan alongside South Ghazalat targeting 14,000 bopd combined output.
